Welcome to the new Tucson Police PAL website!
Over 20 years ago, the Tucson Police Department canceled its PAL program and with it the “bridge” was lost with the neighborhood, and unfortunately with the kids as well. Now, after over a year of hard work and diligence, we are excited to have this extremely valuable program up and running again!
Members of the TPD Gang Outreach Unit were instrumental in the resurgence of the program working with, and approval from the National PAL Association. With the “Re-Grand Opening” of the PAL building on June 1, 2010, it marks the second PAL program in Arizona and only the third in the entire Southwest.
The Tucson Police Officers Association has supported this endeavor from day one, assisting the Gang Outreach Unit both financially and with legal assistance to achieve their non-profit status.
The TPOA is honored to be an official sponsor of both the PAL program and the “Battle of the Badges”, and we are looking forward to the success of the program, but more importantly the healthy growth and safety of Tucson's kids.
